The second card in the Cave and Lantern Oracle deck is the Closed Door. This card is about how the mind deals with limitation.
Sometimes a closed door represents a need for patience. Sometimes it represents a sinking into defeatism and pessimism.
In its ideal form, this card calls you to move from rigidity to curiosity; from believing there is no way forward to believing the way forward is not yet visible. It is good to use our powers of discernment and careful thought, but overthinking can invite fear to block our thoughts, trapping us in negativity.
If left unchecked, we may wander into the tangled weeds of hopelessness and chronic self-doubt. In terms of somatic body wisdom, this can manifest as tightness in the throat, headaches, or tension in the shoulders.
This card asks us: where has heaviness hardened into impossibility?
The healing mantra is: I loosen the grip of fear on my mind. I allow new thoughts and possibilities to enter my awareness.
